Maybelline Clean Express Total Clean - Review

By Amaleena

Good Afternoon Beauties,

Today I am going to review a product which is a necessity in every girl's shelf. I am going to review - Maybelline Clean Express Total Clean. I think, makeup removal is more important than applying it. Especially the eye make up removal part. Dried up liner and mascara if not removed properly can have long term damage. For me a good make up remover would be one which quickly removes makeup without hurting your eyes and also which does not dry up the skin. I have been using this product for few months and i really think its good.

The product is a bi phase formula and needs to be shaken well before you pour it in cotton pad.

Packaging
I liked the packaging. The bottle is easy to carry in purse. The piercing on the cap is optimum for allowing a small quantity of the liquid. This prevents too much of liquid from flowing out.

Price is 275/- for 70ml

My experience

I liked the product very much. It lives up to its name, Clean Express and removes makeup quickly. It does not require too many swipes to remove make up. Its quite moisturizing but not very much. After I remove heavy makeup, my eyes feel a dry sometimes. The good thing is that, there is no irritation or cloudiness in the eyes.

Here are the swatches I used:

After 1 swipe of Maybelline Clean Express Total Clean

After 3 swipes - its totally clean :D

I am rating Maybelline Clean Express Total Clean 4 out of 5.

Will definitely purchase it again until I find something better than this at this price.

Smoke House Deli - Review

By Amaleena

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Few days ago I went out for dinner to Smoke House Deli, Quest Mall with my family, so thought of reviewing it today. When we reached the place, all of us were super hungry. Though it was a Saturday, it was not crowded and thankfully we got seats as soon as we reached.

Here goes our order:

Chili Crushed Bekti with Lemon and Thyme

This is what I ordered and obviously it was good. Two fillets of Bhetki fish cooked well and flavoured, served with lemon thyme sauce. It had sauteed vegetables and a generous portion of Risotto which was delicious. Quite filling and superb taste. Comes at 590/-per plate

Half Roast Chicken (zucchini gratin and rosemary potatoes)
Very filling dish. contains two thick fillets of chicken, well cooked. It was soft and juicy. Potatoes are cooked in slight oil. Served with salad.
Comes at 390/- only

Bacon Wrapped Chicken With Sausage Stuffing

Very good dish. It has three bacon wrapped chicken filled with sausage. From the name you can guess, its a very filling dish. A good amount of smashed potatoes and a portion of iceberg, makes it a totally desirable dish.
comes at 490/-

The Side helpings we ordered: (Each comes for 120/-)

                              Potato Wedges                                            Grilled Veg
                                                                 Herb Garlic Bread

All three were equally good but I am little partial about the Grilled Veg

Our Deserts (my favourite portion) :

Bitter Chocolate and Orange Ganache Torte with ice cream

This was a refreshing end to my meal. It had a chocolaty yet citrus fresh flavour. Not too sweet. I would rather have it without the ice cream to enjoy its flavour fully.
Comes at 190/- only

Philly Chese Cake

I just have one thing to say about this dish. For desert lovers, this is a PIECE OF HEAVEN ON EARTH

Comes at 250/- only

The overall ambiance is very unique and comfortable. Service is prompt and they do help you choose the best menu. Taste is superb and so is the presentation of food. They don't take too much time to get the food ready which is also a very good point.

I am totally impressed and will give Smoke House Deli a 5 out of 5
Will definitely re-visit as soon as possible. And I will recommend you to visit this place too.

Chili's, Quest Mall - Review

By Amaleena

Hi friends!

Today I am going to review Chili's which is in Quest Mall, Kolkata. Most of you have been there...I know..and the rest want to go there. So here I am to help you decide whether to visit this place or not.

I went to this place for dinner during Durga Puja. It was full (as we expected) and we had to wait for 15 minutes. One thing I must mention is that, even though it was full, service was very prompt. As soon as we took our seats, the waiter was there to help us decide the menu. I had gone there with my fiance. We ordered a mock-tail, Blackened salmon with shrimp sauce and Questadilla explosion chicken salad. Initially I thought of having pasta but thanks to my increasing weight, I opted for the salad.

Instant Pulao

By Amaleena

This is a recipe of very easy pulao. It can be easily tried out by beginners.

Ingredients -

rice 500g
peas 100g
raisins 25g
kaju 25g
meetha attar 5 drops
edible colour 1 pinch (optional)
sugar 3 tbsp

salt 1/2 tbsp
white oil 3 tbsp
ghee 2 tbsp
bay leaves 4-5
green cardamom (elaichi) 3
cloves  2-3
cinnamon 2-3 sticks
water

Method

At first, soak the uncooked rice in normal water for half an hour.
Then drain the water and spread out the rice

(i used a clean white cloth, you can also use a tray to spread it out)
Mix peas, kaju, raisins, edible colour, sugar, salt with the rice.

Now in a tumbler, heat the oil and ghee together.
Add bay leaves, elaichi, cloves and cinnamon and wait for them to sizzle.
Once they start sizzling, add the rice mixture and mix it with the oil. Mix well so that the rice is coated with oil. (This prevents it from sticking later)

Then add water. the quantity of water has to be the double of the quantity of the rice.
Add meetha attar.

Cover it and let it cook on medium-low heat for 20 minutes. Check in between after 15 minutes.
The pulao is ready to serve.

I enjoyed my pulao with my favourite Chicken Kasha.

Out for a movie Attire

By Ipshita

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all have enjoyed Diwali and Kali Puja.

I was going for a movie so thought why not share my look with you. Throughout the month, Durga puja, Lakshmi puja and Kali puja, I have been dressing up the traditional Indian way. So, today thought of putting on something casual and super comfortable.

I have paired up a red checkered shirt with my jeans. Both are from Bare Denim. The shirt is of medium-fit hence is quite comfortable to wear in this humid climate.

Shoes are from Catwalk, matching with the shirt.

As it was an afternoon show, I kept it light on the accessories part. The makeup was also minimal The bag is from Lavie and is my personal favourite. I use it as often as I can.

Makeup is minimal as you can see. I have used Maybelline Gel Liner and Lakme Absolute Lip colour..

Hope you enjoyed reading!!

Diwali Special Attire

By Chandrima

Hello beautiful people !!!

It's Diwali...one of the most glorious festivals and my personal favourite. Though it is celebrated all through India, in Bengal it is also celebrated as Kali Puja.
For me this day is all about looking good and eating good. So I thought of trying an uncommon attire this year.

You identified it right. My look is all the way from Assam. It's the traditional dress of Assam, known as Mekhla. Mekhlas basically resemble a sari but are never printed. They have an unique pattern of ornamental designs. They are generally woven from cotton, muga and pat.
Draping a mekhla is easier than the sari. The bottom part is worn like a rap around skirt and folded into pleats in the front and tucked in like a sari. The upper piece of cloth which is the 'Chador' is tucked in at the front and draped around the body like a sari's anchal.

Availability is quite easy if you look for it in well recognized sari shops. You can also try the State emporiums. I got my one from Assam Emporium at Dakshinapan Shopping Complex.
I accessorized my look with simple pearl jewelry which i bought from Hyderabad during my visit to the city.
Well I am all set for my Diwali and Kali Puja.

Now hurry up beauties and get ready too !
