Wedding Bells: What color to wear

By Chandrima & Amaleena

Hello Everyone

The season of weddings is almost at the door.
There is so much shopping to do.
Buy clothes for everyone, jewelry, shoes etc. etc. But the most important one is to buy the bride's outfit.
In fact the most crucial job is to decide what you are going to wear in your wedding.
Will it be a sari? or a lehenga? what colour shall you wear? which colour makes you look good?
There is so much to do!
Every girl hasgot a childhood dream of looking the BEST at her own wedding.
So my dear would-be-bride, you need to be very patient for selecting your wedding outfit.

So we are here today to share some excitement with you and help you choose your wedding outfit.
Remember, this day is yours and you need to look the best. So don't just randomly put on anything you see at the store. First and foremost decide what you want to wear. Whether a tanchoi benarasi or katan benarasi or a lehenga. Tanchoi benarashi is the heavy benarasi sari which has a total traditional look. These days, for a good benarasi sari at Kolkata, price starts from about 10k. Some brides also prefer wearing a kaanjivaram.
Kaanjivaram sarees have their own beauty and appeal.
Now lets see what colours can you wear.
This is a tanchoi benarasi saree.

Red
If you prefer an authentic traditional look, then red will serve you best. Bengali brides in red look like the epitome of beauty. The bright red hue makes you stand out from the rest. If you don't feel confident enough to carry of that bright colour, then don't force yourself. But before you decide, have a look at these brides looking stunning in red.

And if you are thinking that only light complexion can carry off red, you are so wrong. Look at the beautiful Nandita Das. She has carried off her red wedding outfit with poise and elegance.

Maroon
If you want a red outfit but you are unsure of carrying it off well, look for maroon ones. They also give you a traditional look.Maroon goes well with every complexion. I have seen people with dark complexion pulling off this colour superbly.

Pink
If you are the one who always gets compliments when wearing pink, and you don't like red that much, you should probably opt of this colour. Pink itself is a beautiful colour and makes you look beautiful. If you want to keep it sweet and simple you can go for a lighter shade, or else dark pink is a good option. Brides with light complexion tend to carry off this colour really well.

Golden
If you want to look absolutely unique then Gold is for you. Golden colour, like maroon, suits every skin tone provided you have that confidence in you to carry off the colour. You can couple your gold outfit with jewelry and make up for a traditional beautiful look or even a modern elegant look.

No matter what colour your outfit is, remember..you are the queen for the day. :D
